The British Psychological Society and New Savoy Partnership’s 2015 survey into the wellbeing of psychological staff within the NHS uncovered alarming levels of depression, burnout and stress. Common themes identified by the survey were a managerial fixation on targets, extra administrative demands, increases in unpaid overtime and resource cuts.
So, what can be done? A staff wellbeing charter launched by Professor Kevin Fenton, National Director for Health and Wellbeing seeks to take action to address these issues.
