Mental Health Week: Our relationship resolution

by Alison B - 17th May 2016

This week is national Mental Health Awareness week, organised by the Mental Health Foundation.

Strong relationships and a close community have been found to be as critical to our wellbeing as more obvious factors like healthy eating and exercise. This year’s event asks the public to think about how they can improve the quality of their connections with other people, both at home and at work.

The Mental Health Foundation is lobbying the government, public bodies and employers to promote good relationships and to break down the parts of modern life that get in the way – things like work commitments and financial pressures. They are inviting the public to make a relationship resolution, to pay closer attention to the time they commit to building and maintaining their relationships, to prioritise social time, and to ask themselves what they can do to be build deeper connections with friends, family and colleagues.

We in the marketing and creative team at Mayden have resolved to take one hour each month to check in with each other for a heart-to-heart about how our various projects are going, to have an open conversation about our workloads, and to ensure that everyone has the support they need.
