The SCCI standard, SCCI1605 is expected to be adhered to from the end of this month. The standard requires that accessibility information is collected as part of a patient’s care record.
We have created six new fields in the patient registration tabs in both iaptus adults and iaptus CYP to meet this standard. The fields will be switched on for all services, but they are not mandatory. Your account manager will be able to make the fields mandatory for your service if needed.
The fields can be found towards the bottom of the patient registration tab under a new heading, Accessibility.
Only one field will display when you first register or edit a patient’s information. This first field was not required by the SCCI165 standard, but has been added to enable you to easily see which patients have accessibility requirements.
When a user selects the option to state that a patient has accessibility requirements, five new, customisable fields are displayed, enabling further detail to be added. These are:
- Requires communication support
- Specific contact methods
- Specific information formats
- Requires communication professionals
- Accessibility information notes
The fields enable more than one option to be selected from the list, and ‘Accessibility information notes’ is a free text box which enables you to capture more detailed information that is specific to your patient’s accessibility needs.
Take a look and get in touch with your account manager if you have any questions or requests.
